Beaver Pest Control London predominantly deals with pigeon and gull problems although other pest bird species can also be controlled.

Birds, their droppings and their nests can:

• Carry bacteria and disease such as ornithosis
• Trigger asthma via their droppings
• Damage and stain buildings and facades due to their acidic droppings
• Lead to insect infestation such as fleas, flies, mites, beetles and textile pests
• Create a smell due to their droppings
• Create a slip hazard if their droppings become wet

Roosting of birds can be classified according to how many are present. If there are a lot of birds in one area it suggests that the pulling factors are significant, these could be a sheltered area, a source of food and water or even south facing ledges or pipes.

The above factors will determine whether roosting pressure is high, medium or low, and in turn this will affect the type of bird deterrent required.

Netting will prevent birds from entering an area if roosting pressure is high. This is a long-term system that provides a low visibility solution; zips and gates can be fitted to provide access.

Spikes fixed with silicon gel can prevent medium pressure roosting, these can be translucent or of stainless steel.

Sprung wire is visually unobtrusive, but only useful for low pressure roosting as is repellent gel.

Trapping, shooting and scaring are alternatives methods to gain control.

CLEANING

In addition to proofing against birds we will clean the area of droppings and, if necessary, jet wash and paint to remove or hide staining. We will also spray with an insecticide to kill any related insect pests and with a biocide to destroy any bacteria.
